Katherine Teed-Arthur (she/her) is an actor, playwright, and producer based in her hometown of Toronto, ON. She holds a BFA in Dramatic Arts from The New School with a Minor in Creative Technologies. While at the New School, she specialized in acting and projection design, but was fortunate enough to receive additional training in playwriting and directing. Her design skills and training introduced her to the backstage and eventually the administrative side of the arts, and she has throughout her career used her knowledge in both on and off-stage matters to provide nuanced perspective in both artistic and administrative positions.
Her play 500 Doubloons premiered at Hamilton Fringe Festival 2025 and was called was called “a freight train of a comedy extravaganza that ends unexpectedly and perfectly” by The Vibe Hamilton and a “fun, inventive romp” that is “refreshingly original, full of well-crafted word play, with increasingly ridiculous characters” by Steel City Reviews. Katherine is currently on tour with Ghosts Are Everywhere as their director and stage manager while they head to Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August. She considers it a career dream to one day play a scary ghost, and this gets pretty close.
Katherine’s passions lie in heightened language, farcical situations, and characters that force audiences to question the world they inhabit. She is a strong advocate for the cause of horror in theatre despite being the biggest scaredy-cat you know and will happily tell you about her favourite films for hours, but only if you do the same.
